About this branch

Chirk & Weston Rhyn Branch has been providing support to The League of Friends since 1967.

This branch has a rich history of association with and support of the hospital – from assisting with patient education and feeding in the late 1970s to providing entertainment.

For several years, long stay spinal unit patients were regularly collected from the hospital for outings in the summer months and taken to Brynkinalt Hall, Chirk by kind permission of the Hill Trevor family.

Patients were able to enjoy the gardens, given tea and then played games, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
